FLAGS ON THE BAYOU

Novel. In the fall of 1863, the Union army is in control of the Mississippi River. Much of Louisiana, including New Orleans and Baton Rouge, is occupied. An enslaved woman is accused of murder and goes on the run with an abolitionist schoolteacher, a dual ends in disaster, and a powerful love story blossoms between an unlikely pair.
