WINTER'S END

Novel. During the annual Death Walk in Alaska, Beth and her friend Orin go to check on an elderly resident. The old man is alive but not in the best shape. So Beth stays with him while Orin hurries to town for help, but it's not Orin who returns. The police chief comes back with shocking news, and it soon becomes clear that Orin has vanished, along with a young woman.
